One app from the first enquiry to the money in your bank
A job management app for a trades firm keeps one record running from the first enquiry through the quote, the booked job, the work done on site, the invoice and the payment, so nobody re-types anything between stages. Gafferly does that from £29 per user per month with no VAT added, with the engineer working from the phone, including jobs completed with no signal.
One record from enquiry to paid
A job moves through enquiry, quoted, booked, in progress, completed, invoiced and paid. The quote, the parts, the photos and the invoice all hang off the same job, so the office is never asking the engineer what was agreed.
Built for the engineer's phone
Each engineer has a Today screen with their jobs in order, the address and the customer history. They log parts, take photos, get a signature and complete the job without going back to the van or the office.
Finishing a job with no signal
Completing and signing a job, photos and voice notes are queued on the phone when there is no reception and sent when it comes back. A basement or a plant room does not stop the paperwork.
The office sees the same picture
The diary, the dashboard and an end of day summary show what is booked, in progress and waiting on money, without ringing round the engineers.
How it works
- Take the enquiry and turn it into a quote or straight into a job
- Book it in the diary against the engineer who is free
- The engineer sees it on their phone, works through it and logs parts and photos
- They complete it on site with a signature, and the customer gets a job sheet
- Raise the invoice from the same job and take payment by card
What it does not do
- Gafferly is not accounting or payroll software. It syncs invoices to Xero on Crew and above, and it does not do your VAT return or file anything to HMRC.
- It does not ship a wide library of certificates. CP12 and EICR are built in, and everything else is a form you build yourself.
- There is no stock ordering from suppliers and no supplier price feed. Parts used on a job pull from your own stock list and your own price book.
- Offline working covers the engineer's job actions, such as arriving, completing and signing, notes, photos, voice notes and forms already opened on the phone. Building a quote or sending an invoice needs a connection.

Common questions
What is a job management app for a trades business?
It is software that holds every job as one record from the first enquiry to payment, covering the customer and site, the quote, the diary booking, the work done, the parts and photos, the invoice and the payment. The point is that the engineer on site and the person in the office are looking at the same job, so there is no re-typing and nothing lives only in someone's head or a van notebook.
How should I compare job management software in the UK?
Ask five things. Does the engineer app work with no signal. Does the quote carry through to the job and the invoice without re-typing. Are card payments paid into your own account. Does it sync to the accounts package you actually use. And is the price per user, with what extra for the features you will need, written down. Gafferly is £29, £49 or £79 per user per month on Solo, Crew and Fleet, with a 30 day trial that takes a card, and no VAT added.
Is Gafferly a tradesman app I can run from my phone?
Yes for the on-site side. Engineers see their jobs, log parts and photos, complete jobs and capture signatures from the phone. The office side, such as the full diary, quote building and reports, works better on a bigger screen but still opens on a phone.
Which plan do I need?
Solo at £29 per user per month covers the core job flow: customers, jobs, diary, quotes, invoices, photos, messages and certificates. Crew at £49 adds the automatic quote and invoice chasers, Xero sync, the live map and reports. Fleet at £79 adds route sequencing. Prices are per user per month with no VAT added.
