Choosing the right certificate is itself a compliance decision. A gas engineer has essentially one recurring statutory document. An electrician has to decide, on every job, whether the work needs an EICR, an EIC or a Minor Works certificate, and picking Minor Works for something that added a new circuit is a compliance failure in its own right.

How the work arrives
Three-way, and the mix splits by business type rather than by trade. A domestic sole trader is mostly reactive callouts and small works. A firm doing landlord and agent work runs planned EICR rounds against tenancy dates. A commercial contractor runs projects with first fix, a gap for the plasterer, then second fix and test. One scheduling model does not fit all three.
How the year runs
EICR volume follows the tenancy cycle rather than the weather, so it clusters around student and agent turnover rather than winter. Emergency lighting duration tests cluster out of hours because you have to drop the lights.
Where Gafferly stops, for this trade

- Gafferly does not lodge Part P notifications. That happens on your scheme's portal and no job management software can do it for you.
- It does not ship EIC or Minor Works as built-in certificates. EICR is built in, the rest you build in the form builder.
- It does not decide an observation code for you. C1 versus C2 is your professional judgement.
