Invoice from the van, get paid by card
Gafferly turns an accepted quote into an invoice in one tap and takes card payments through your own Stripe account, so the money lands in your bank rather than sitting with the software company. Overdue invoices chase themselves on a schedule you set, and everything mirrors into Xero on the Crew plan and above.
Your own Stripe account
You connect Stripe yourself, so payments go to your bank directly and the customer relationship is yours. Several competitors route payments through their own merchant arrangement instead.
Invoice before you get home
Raise it on the phone at the end of the job rather than at the kitchen table on Sunday. Invoices sent on the day get paid noticeably sooner.
Chasers on a schedule you set
Overdue invoices follow themselves up, so you are not the one making the awkward call. On Crew and above.
Deposits and part payments
Take a deposit before you order materials, then the balance on completion, rather than funding the job yourself.
How it works
- Finish the job and turn the accepted quote into an invoice
- Send it from the phone before you leave
- The customer pays by card, into your own Stripe account
- Overdue ones chase themselves
- Everything mirrors into Xero
What it does not do
- Gafferly is not accounting software. It syncs to Xero, it does not replace it, and it does not file anything to HMRC. It is not Making Tax Digital software.
- Xero sync and automatic chasers need the Crew plan or above.
- Only sent invoices sync to Xero. Drafts stay in Gafferly on purpose, so nothing lands in your accounts before you mean it.
- There is no QuickBooks integration.

Common questions
Does the money go to Gafferly first?
No. You connect your own Stripe account, so card payments settle into your bank on Stripe's normal schedule. Gafferly never holds your money.
Does it work with Xero?
Yes, on the Crew plan and above. Invoices, credit notes, payments, write-offs and voids all mirror across, and your customers become Xero contacts automatically. Only sent invoices sync, drafts stay put.
Does it work with QuickBooks?
No. Xero is the only accounting integration. If your accounts are on QuickBooks, that is a genuine reason to look at something else, and ServiceM8 connects to both.
