Delete your account
Last updated: 5 August 2026
You can delete your Gafferly account and your company’s data at any time. There are two ways to do it, and you do not need the app installed to make the request.
1. From inside Gafferly (fastest)
Sign in as the account owner, open Menu, then Account. At the bottom of that page is Delete account. You will be asked to type your company name to confirm.
Only the owner can do this, because it deletes the whole workspace and not just one person’s login. If you are an engineer, dispatcher or accounts user, ask your owner, or use the email route below and we will contact them.
2. By email
Email privacy@gafferly.comfrom the address on your Gafferly account, with the subject “Account deletion request”, and tell us your company name. We will verify you are the owner before doing anything, then confirm by email once it is done.
We respond within one month, as UK data protection law requires, and usually much sooner.
What happens next
Deletion is not instant, on purpose. Your workspace is scheduled for deletion after 30 days. During that window:
- Nobody at your company can sign in and use Gafferly. The workspace is locked.
- Your subscription is cancelled, so you are not billed again.
- You can undo it. If it was a mistake, contact us and we will restore your account in full.
After 30 days the data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us or by you.
What is deleted
Everything your company put into Gafferly: your customers and their contact details, sites, jobs, job notes and photos, quotes, forms, certificates, signatures, equipment records, vehicles and location history, your staff logins, and your company profile and settings.
What we have to keep, and why
Invoices, payments and credit notes are retained. UK law requires businesses to keep records that support their tax returns, generally for six years, and that obligation does not disappear because a software account was closed. Keeping them also protects you: they are your own accounting records.
These are kept under a legal obligation rather than for our own purposes. They are not used for anything else, never used for marketing, and are deleted once the retention period ends. Everything else listed above goes.
If you are a customer of a firm that uses Gafferly rather than a Gafferly account holder yourself, that firm controls your data and this page does not apply. Contact them directly, and see section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
