Getting started
What Gafferly does, the roles, and how to find your way around.
Last updated 23 July 2026
Gafferly runs your whole job, from the first enquiry to getting paid, with live van tracking built in.
New account?
Work through the first-week set-up checklist first. It takes you from a blank account to sending your first branded quote in about an hour.
The roles
Each team member has a role that decides what they see:
- Owner sees everything, including money and settings.
- Dispatcher runs the diary, jobs, customers and quotes.
- Accounts handles invoices, payments and reports.
- Engineer gets a lean view built for the phone: their day and their jobs.
Finding your way
Everything is in the left-hand menu, grouped into Work, Sales, Operations, Insights and Setup (where Settings and this help centre live). On a phone you get the key screens on the bottom bar and the rest under Menu.
A typical flow
- An enquiry lands in Leads and you convert it to a customer.
- You send a quote and they accept and sign it online, picking any optional extras.
- The job is booked into the diary and assigned to an engineer.
- The engineer completes it on site, with photos and a signature.
- You raise the invoice and the customer pays by card or bank transfer.
