Compare

How we compare products

We sell one of the products on these pages, so you should hold our comparisons to a higher standard than a neutral reviewer's. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, and the sources we used, so you can check the working rather than take our word for it.

Oldest source check across the dataset: 2026-08-26.

01

Prices come from the vendor, never from a listicle

Every price, trial length and contract term is read from that vendor's own public pricing page. We do not repeat figures from review sites, affiliate roundups or a rival's comparison page, because those are frequently out of date and occasionally invented. If a vendor does not publish a price, we say it is not published rather than filling the gap with a guess.

02

Every figure carries a date

Software pricing changes without notice. A comparison without a date is a claim about the present made from an unknown point in the past. Every row on our tables shows when we last read the source, and the oldest date on the page is shown at the top so you can judge how much to trust it.

03

We compare like with like, and say when we cannot

These products are not priced the same way. ServiceM8 charges per job with unlimited users. YourTradebase charges a base fee plus a per-seat cost. Others charge per user. Flattening those into one number produces a table that technically has no false cells and still misleads, so we model each properly and state our assumptions where we have to make one.

04

We publish the numbers where we lose

Gafferly is not the cheapest job management software for a five or ten person firm, and our pricing comparison says so with the figures attached. A comparison that always concludes in our favour would tell you nothing, and you would be right not to believe it.

05

We do not compare against products in a different market

Some well-known names are left out of the cost charts on purpose. Payaca starts at £299 a month and Commusoft states it is built for firms with six or more staff. Putting those next to a £29 product makes us look good and helps nobody, so they appear in the table with a note rather than in the chart.

06

Features are checked against documentation, not marketing pages

Where we compare capability rather than price, we look for the feature in the vendor's own help documentation or product tour. A feature named on a landing page but absent from the documentation is recorded as unclear rather than as a yes or a no.

07

We correct things quickly and visibly

If a figure here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it and update the checked date. That applies to vendors as much as to customers. We would rather be corrected than be quietly inaccurate.

Every source we used

One row per product, linking to the page the figures were read from and the date we read it. These open in a new tab and we do not pass ranking credit to them.

Found something wrong?

If a price has changed, a feature has shipped, or we have described your product incorrectly, email hello@gafferly.com and we will correct it. That invitation is open to competitors as much as to customers.
